Dot NAME Domain Names

Launched in 2001, the .NAME top-level domain name extension is the sole TLD planned for personal sites only. These domains can be personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other titles people are famous by. At the beginning, just third-level registrations were permitted, so if you wanted to purchase john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already registered 3rd-level domain names remained running.

Through our company, you can buy your .NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will have the chance to correct the WHOIS information, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our firm if you get its EPP transfer code from the current registrar company and we will renew it when the transfer has been finished. There are no specific rules on who can obtain a dot NAME domain, but in order to maintain the idea behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry may verify who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration can be challenged.
